Il Davide “The Hurt Locker” batte il Golia “Avatar“
Un’edizione donna, indipendente e politica
Il mio breve commento a questa sconcertante 82esima edizione degli Academy Awards è più o meno il seguente.
James Cameron aveva già fatto il pieno di statuette con il suo “Titanic“.
L’idea era di premiare un film contro la guerra, (questo spiega le nove nominations sia ad “Avatar” che a “The Hurt Locker“).
L’Academy ha fatto una scelta politica, non sull’arte.
La guerra, ovviamente, doveva essere quella in Iraq, … per tanti motivi, non ultimo l’elezione del presidente Barack Obama.
Quentin Tarantino ha, dunque, purtroppo per lui, realizzato il film giusto nel momento sbagliato. Peccato perché, a mio modesto parere, avendoli visti tutti e tre, credo di poter dire che era il suo quello che meritava di più. Altro che Avatar, con i suoi budget faraonici.
Morale la Kathryn Bigelow, con un film bello, e molto ben girato, ma, vi assicuro, niente di così strabiliante, si è trovata in pole position, ed ha strappato assai più delle sue più rosee previsioni, in barba all’ex marito, peraltro.
Ma, per dirvela tutta, la vera discontinuità, e chiudo, non è stata l’aver consegnato, per la prima volta, ad una donna, la statuetta come migliore regista (cosa, per carità, rimarchevole ed indubbiamente da sottolineare), ma avere premiato, – a discapito di un film costosissimo, tenuto in gestazione per oltre 13 anni, che ha fatto sviluppare macchine da presa per il 3D, su specifici requirements di James Cameron, che si è pure inventato la “Motion Capture” con tutto quello che sarà costata anche in termini d’ideazione e sviluppo, e che, last but not least, è anche quello che ha incassato di più nella storia del Cinema – con ben due statuette, un film indipendente (“Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire”).
Non lo so, lo trovo un segnale curioso ed incoraggianete perlatro, ecco.
Sugli altri premi, invece, tutto abbastanza secondo le previsioni direi, aggiungo che sono molto contento sia per quelli dati agli italiani, e per sia per quello conferito ad UP, una pellicola che ci è piaciuta assai, e che aveva ricevuto l’onore di aprire, per la prima volta nella sua storia, la rassegana di Cannes con un film di animazione.
